We are a family-owned and operated The Basset Family is dedicated to producing healthy and happy basset puppies. Our breeding program focuses on producing puppies with excellent temperament, conformation, and health. We take pride in providing our puppies with the best care and attention, and we ensure that they are well socialized before they go to their new homes. We also offer a health guarantee and provide ongoing support to our puppy owners.
We maintain a formal relationship with our veterinarian to maintain a Program of Veterinary Care (a PVC). We follow a minimum vaccination and worming schedule, established by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) for all puppies and parents.
The living spaces for every dog must meet our standards. Some of the many factors we monitor include size, pet-friendly materials, aesthetics, ventilation, temperature, noise, flooring, bedding, lighting, cleaning, pest control, outdoor facilities, and more.
To be successful, we believe that housetraining starts as soon as possible. At 4 weeks (or soon as a puppy is able to walk), they are given lots of supervised outdoor playtime with mom and dad. We also start rewarding for going potty or pooping outside. This starts as soon as they wake up and then frequent outside breaks throughout the day. By the time they go home they will be well on their way to being housebroken.
If for any reason that you are unable to care for your puppy, no matter what age, we will happily take him/her back. We do not want any of our puppies going to a shelter.
We are available for questions even after your puppy comes home with you.
